Make sure to RIGHT CLICK on keygen.exe and choose "Run as Administrator". I had the exact same problem, but I forgot to do that step. Worked perfectly after.

To those who failed to patch:
run the keygen as administrator

and for those who can't generate key after clicking generate,

download the .net framework, .net 4 to be sure,..

For those confused about patching sublime_text.exe, it's the actual installed 'sublime_text' program in your Program Files, NOT the setup file you've unzipped.

- mac user using windows 8
